We are a family run estate specialising in the production of the finest quality, cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. After much clearing of almost every species of thistle and many weeds the grove was planted in 2005 in what used to be ‘the bull run’ alongside the Huangarua River. The soil here shares the same qualities that make Martinborough the internationally renowned wine growing region that it is.
We currently offer an ‘Italian’ blend incorporating Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino which tends to be green, grassy and with a strong peppery after-taste, and a second blend based on the Israeli Barnea cultivar pollinated by Manzanillo. This produces a creamier, more rounded, fruity yellow oil that still manages to have some ‘bite’ and heaps of flavour.
You can order our oil direct from Jamie Reid.

Leafyridge Olives, situated near Masterton in the beautiful Wairarapa region of New Zealand, is owned and managed by the Leaf-Wright family.
Its location, at the southern tip of the North Island of New Zealand, has an ideal climate for producing some of the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the world. The trees grow in the stony, free draining soils so typical of the Wairarapa, alongside the Ruamahanga river. The cold, wet winters followed by long, hot and dry summer days are perfect conditions for the olives, resulting in oils with uniquely fresh flavours to gratify even the most discerning palate.
As well as producing award winning Extra Virgin Olive Oils, Leafyridge also produces a range of award winning flavoured oils and gift boxes.

From bare paddock, purchased in 1996 as we enjoyed a break between two magical Schubert concerts held in the Martinborough Town Hall, to olive grove with oil awarded best in show, we have produced commercially since 2005.
Left Field is located on a gentle rise, thus avoiding frosts, and the combination of healthy trees, the light and the soils contributes to the quality extra virgin olive oil winning awards and being selected by chefs.
Oil blended from our Italian varieties, Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino, encapsulates the flavours of Tuscany, rounded, grassy and peppery. The Barnea oil (an Israeli olive) that we blend with Manzanillo (Spain) is fruity with a spicy finish.
Purchase from Moore Wilson Fresh and wine and food outlets in Martinborough or contact Colin and Di Hadley.
We welcome visits to our grove but please phone first.

We purchased a year-old olive grove in Martinborough in 1997, with the aim one day to provide New Zealand with homegrown premium extra virgin olive oils. Years later, we have honed our craft by being involved in all aspects of our business, from the grove to the table. We consider ourselves original pioneers of the olive industry in New Zealand and creators of potentially the finest extra virgin and cold pressed fragrant olive oils. All of this stems from our interest in what nature produces, and using it to create interesting blends for home cooks and chefs here in New Zealand and overseas. With many trees replaced with our favourites, a home and an NP3 accredited commercial building built, Lot Eight still remains quite a breath-taking and privileged journey for us as food lovers.

Olive Black’s roots lie in the South of the Wairarapa, New Zealand. There is no place better to harvest olive oil than the Wairarapa. It’s spectacular coastlines, wide valleys and small towns are the reason the Wairarapa is New Zealand’s best kept secret, and is a region we are proud to call the home of Olive Black. In 2015 a grove was purchased and after a favorable harvest our oil was packaged and delivered to the most exclusive food stores in Auckland and Beyond. The Olive Black packaging has been designed by some of New Zealand’s leading Designers to match our industry leading product. The oil itself is contained in a glass medicine bottle with a cork top for a stylish addition to any home kitchen

River Grove lies on the banks of the Ruamahanga River, just north of Masterton in the beautiful Wairarapa.
Currently the grove consists of around 1600 olive trees, most of which were planted in 2000. Our two main varieties are the Tuscans, deliciously fruity Frantoio and complex, peppery Leccino, but in the years since we came we have planted several other varieties including Koroneiki, a tiny olive from Greece that produces wonderful, flavoursome oil and Chemlali (another fruity Tuscan) which is proving popular with those who taste it.
River Grove regularly enters the New Zealand Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards and are well rewarded with medals awarded.
At our olive grove we also offer boutique self contained accommodation and Steve and Chris Price extend a warm welcome to all guests.
